plenty of power, will drive screws all day long. used it for driving 1 5/8" drywall screws into old studs and it barely slowed down. trigger lock is difficult to engage with one hand, but that also means you won't actuate it accidentally. great tool at under $60.
Anyone hanging more than 20 sheets of drywall at a time should consider this tool. Battery operated drill/drivers are not meant to produce speed in installation.Checked others in stores and for the money paid on Amazon, this was the top gun.
I have an older Milwaukee screw gun and a new DeWalt screw gun and a very old Craftsman Professional that appears to be made my DeWalt. Therefore I had to use 2-3/4" screws going through very hard plaster of varying thickness into 50+ year old oak that is hard as nails. I am becoming a huge fan of Milwaukee tools. I was going over the top of an existing plaster over plaster board ceiling. This gun is light and powerful and comes with a cord that is long and flexible. The new Milwaukee is the gun I reach for when I need to drive some screws with the heads embedded in a precise manner. The plaster installers did a masterful job of making up the variation in the ceiling with a coat of plaster that varies in thickness from less than 1/2 inch up to about 1-1/4 inches over 1/2" plaster board.
The Milwaukee has the best repeatability of depth under these conditions of any screw gun I own. They deliver more value per dollar than anything else I have found. All my other screw guns would drive the screws, but seemed to have trouble setting the depth correctly. I needed to hang about 1100 square feet of drywall on the ceiling of an old house. The house was framed in with rough sawn green oak that was everything except straight. They all work pretty good with new drywall over new studs, but when the going gets very tough, the Milwaukee really shines. I don't know how they could make it any better.
Clutch release is very repeatable. This Milwaukee is a great gun. Super fast. Depth of drive adjustment is fine enough to get just what you want. To top it off, I got a Milwaukee at a nice low price.
This is a good buy at regular price so here it is an even better deal and it works great.
